Swinger Style

Now that most of the Hot Rods are involved in committed relationships, Swinger's beginning to feel like the odd man out, and if he's honest, a bit jealous of what the others have, so when he sees the chance to have the same thing for himself with Sabra he knows he should go for it, but he has to overcome the hangups from his past first. I'm not sure why Sabra hung around long enough to see past Swinger's protective walls, because he was downright mean to her . . . but she did, and once he stopped fighting it so hard, it was sweet to see them together. I'm looking forward to Barracuda and Meep's story (I've been waiting for that one for a while). Can't wait! Great series!

Jayne did it again

I have been reading Jayne Rylon for 5 years I have my favorite book and series. But in the last couple of books I have read Jayne has had me wanting the next book like now. It is no different this time. Swinger Style has everything. The story between Holden and Saber is great. The Hot Rods and the ladies make you want more. If you have not read the Hot Rod series then you should. If you have then you will not be disappointed in the book. Thank you Jayne for writing a great story. I can not wait for the next book.

Hot smoking fun

Jayne Rylon never fails to please, her characters are like old friends and I can't wait to see what they'll be up to next. The sex is smoking hot, and the situations that her characters deal with are real life and she deals with the honestly without sugar coating. Although I do have to say about the ending "How could you? We have to wait to see what will happen? Cruel, Jayne, just cruel!!"

I have no hesitation in recommending this book as a preferred course text at post-graduate level or for in-house training.  It’s far superior to anything else on the market and sits nicely between Andres (2012) and Marsden and Wright (2010).  Whereas some  books tend to be more academic (and sometimes based on limited, if any, serious experience of actually doing surveys) this book is written by people who do surveys for a living, one of them for forty years. With its combination of accumulated wisdom and narrative skill, it’s easy (and fulfilling) to read, and you can barely see the joins. It has been written by very experienced fellow professionals used to dealing with operational practicalities, spiced with (just enough, but not too much) theory and thankfully few equations (formulae are immediately off-putting for students in sociology and similar areas). About the Author

Johnny Blair is an independent consultant. Previously, he was a principal scientist and senior survey methodologist at Abt Associates Inc., where he directed the Cognitive Testing Laboratory. He has conducted research on sampling rare populations, measurement error in proxy reporting, and cognitive interviewing for pretesting survey instruments. He is a member of the Design and Analysis Committee, which provides statistical advice for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), often referred to as The Nation’s Report Card. He has served on National Research Council panels to assess major government-sponsored surveys. His research publications include many book chapters, and over 50 articles in academic journals and in the Proceedings of the Joint Statistical Meetings of the American Statistical Association Section on Survey Methods. He served two terms on the editorial board of Public Opinion Quarterly and is a frequent peer reviewer for several other research journals. 

 

Ronald Czaja, associate professor (retired) of sociology and anthropology at North Carolina State University, taught courses in both undergraduate and graduate research methodology and medical sociology. His methodological research interests focus on sampling rare populations, response effects in surveys, and the cognitive aspects of questionnaire design. From 1969 to 1990 he was at the Survey Research Laboratory, University of Illinois at Chicago, as project coordinator, co-head of sampling, assistant director, and principal investigator.

Edward Blair is the Michael J. Cemo professor of marketing and entrepreneurship and chair of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He has been chair of the American Statistical Association Committee on Energy Statistics, which advises the U.S. Energy Information Administration on statistical matters, and previously served on the U.S. Census Bureau Advisory Committee. He has been a National Science Foundation panelist, national conference chair for the American Marketing Association, editorial board member for Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Journal of Business Research, and instructor in sampling and survey methods for the American Marketing Association School of Marketing Research. His research interests include survey sampling and cognitive aspects of survey methodology.

The perfect little pre-appetizer to get you REALLY hungry for the adventure to come. Beautifully done. A+!

I got my first copy of this with the Collector's Edition of the computer game, though that one is slightly different. (DC Universe Online Collector's Edition) I went ahead and ordered two like the one you're reading about now so I'd have both in my collection. They are almost identical in every way, except for cover art. But what it does is to quickly set up the main story, both the one that plays out in the game (Which is AMAZING!), and the deeper and more engaging story that will be being told in the comic. The comic itself will be a 26 issue run, more assuming sales stay up, and will all tie directly into the game, and yet be a stand alone story, though it does occur outside of normal continuity. Already, from the time I purchased my first two of these until now, a few weeks later, the value has almost quadrupled on these things. They're hard enough to come by already, so if you're a comic collector, I'd urge you to give this series, and the game, a try. I love them, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Very good

Bought this as a text book for my GD&T class. While it's a bit dry it definitely covers the topic well. The author is a Boeing engineer and obviously loves the topic of tolerancing. The diagrams are clear and the text explains the topics clearly. Some of the more advanced content such as virtual dimensions and true position were clearly explained and shown through examples.

It's no John Grisham novel but for a technical book on GD&T it does the business and is not painful to read.

This is the latest revision written by the current chair of the national standards committee - he knows his stuff! Lots of illustrations and precise language. I use this book daily for coaching design and producibility engineers, and have to clearly mark it as mine so it doesn't get 'borrowed'. This is the book we give to new engineers in our company when they take the comprehensive GD&T class.

14 months, 170 workouts, and 30 lbs later...

Fourteen months ago, my size 12 blue jeans were starting to feel just a little bit more than tight. I had just seen the pictures of myself at my sister's wedding...and they weren't pretty. They made me realize that I had gone from always having been extremely slender to well, to put it politely, junoesque.
I started this program March 4, 1999, after reading an excerpt from Strong Women Stay Slim in the Reader's Digest. I was looking for a program that I could do for the rest of my life. It had to be one that did not involve going to a gym, since I have a 100% failure rate with exercise dependent on a gym. It had to be one that helped me drop the 30 lbs. I had picked up since taking a sedentary job in the suburbs. It had to be forgiving of my sometimes irregular schedule. It had to get me back in shape for my 25th high school reunion.
After six weeks of following the exercises in the Reader's Digest Article, I was already seeing results, so I bought Strong Women Stay Young, and added the ankle weight and abs exercises from the book to my program. I also started taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator, and walking to the store instead of driving. (I did do the program an average of three times a week, rather than the recommended two.)
By the time my high school reunion rolled around, I had dropped the extra 30 lbs (without dieting -- just sensible eating). So many people at work have commented in the change in my appearance and have asked how I did it, that I've taken to carrying Reader's Digest reprints of the original article around to hand out when asked. My thighs and my upper arms have slimmed down and firmed up. My belt went from too tight on the largest hole to too loose on the smallest. I continue to get stronger and to improve my sense of balance. And my jeans are now a size six...
Some of the other reviews raise concerns that this program is too mild to be effective. Perhaps that's true, if you're looking for serious bodybuilding, or want to train for a marathon. But as for me, I wanted to be stronger and slimmer. I am. I wanted a program that I would actually do, instead of one that I would drift away from. Fourteen months later, I'm still working out. My experience is that this works, if you actually do it.

A Wonderful Book

After 18 years of increasing disability with CFIDS/Fibromyalgia and a brain injury in 1997, I was a mess.
A friend sent me a copy of this in 1998, and it helped turn my life around.
I went from being so weak I was barely able to do one set of 8 reps (with NO weights), to outgrowing first 3 lb, then 5 lb, then 10 lb hand and ankle weights.
Despite the unpredictable and cyclic nature of my illness, I'm able to keep up my strength when I'm doing well, and rebuild it quickly and easily after relapses.
I've recommended this book to family, friends, and even one of my doctors, and have yet to find anyone who didn't benefit from it.

A Gift for yourself and anywoman of any age

This well researched book explains how to do something reallypositive for your body no matter what your age. I love that this canbe done at home with a minimum of investment in equipment. (hand weights and adjustable ankle weights) The program is designed to make the most of your time, so two forty minute workouts a week is all it takes to make you strong, increase your balance and increase bone density. This is a book I've recommneded to my mom, and all my friends, no matter how old and how young. Note that this is a starting off point for weight training. If you already do it on a regular basis the exercises may not excite you but the research behind it is interesting.

The distinctively yellow-bound Shell Bitumen Handbook, first published in 1949 and now issued in its sixth edition, is certainly one such valued book. It replaces the fifth edition of 2003 and is completely reorganised, thoroughly updated and expanded by around 50%. Three principal authors, led by civil engineer and expert asphalt consultant, Dr Robert Hunter, are supported by a panel of specialist authors, many of whom are with Shell Bitumen. Those familiar with the fifth edition will find the chapters rearranged somewhat, with a net increase in chapters from 20 to 24 and a doubling of appendices from 4 to 8. The new chapter sequence approximately follows the life of bitumen, from its origins and manufacture, through its properties and use in asphalts, then design, installation and performance of asphalt pavements, to durability and other applications for bitumen and asphalt. Two of the new appendices indicate an objective to make the handbook more international: Appendices 5 and 6, respectively, list bitumen and asphalt product standards across the world. In the former, different principles are used in various regions, with performance graded (PG) specification being used in North America and partly in China, whereas empirical testing is used elsewhere, such as penetration/softening in Europe, Africa and much of Asia, and viscosity in Australasia, the Indian subcontinent, Mexico and parts of South America (and for soft grades in Europe); unfortunately, there is some minor inconsistency between the text and the map in Appendix 5. A surprising omission from the previous edition was guidance on the design of asphalt mixtures. This gap is well and thoroughly addressed in the new edition, with a completely new, 50-page Chapter 12. In common with all the chapters in this book, Chapter 12 is clearly written and beautifully presented, being both easy and a pleasure to read, supported by full-colour diagrams of impressive clarity; there are no photographs in this particular chapter, but elsewhere there are plenty of good-quality images, as appropriate. This new chapter provides a grounding in the principles that underpin asphalt mix design, notably mixture volumetrics and aggregate grading , then explains the four most widely implemented design methods, all of which were developed in the USA: Hubbard Field , Hveem (or California ), Marshall (or Corps of Engineers , perhaps the best known) and Superpave (the most recent, resulting from a research programme initiated in response to increasing premature pavement failures). As well as reorganisation and the new chapter on asphalt mix design, existing users will be pleased to know that this new edition sets out to update the whole opus, and two splendid examples are the completely new Chapter 7 on rheology of bitumens and the extended Chapter 8 (formerly Chapter 5) on polymer-modified bitumens and other modified binders. The former is a most valuable 30-page addition on a critical property, especially with the growth in the use of polymer-modified bitumens, authored jointly by specialists from Shell (Dr Richard Taylor) and the University of Nottingham (Professor Gordon Airey). Me encanto esta historia. Al principio me dio trabajo acostumbrarme a los silencios de Patrick ya que toda la historia es contada por Ana Luisa y el era desesperante pero llego el punto donde no la pude soltar. Como se desarrolla, los personajes, las descripciones de los momentos de pasion me parecieron inmejorables. Me gusto mucho que el personaje de Ana Luisa fuera sincera y dijera lo que pensaba, la historia no cae en el famoso cliche de que no te digo lo que siento y los malos entendidos. Concuerdo con las demas criticas respecto al final la escritora nos pudo deleitar un poco mas. Muy buen trabajo y la recomiendo.
