Trollope at his best!

Orley Farm is Trollope at his best (as good as the Barsetshire series), which means some of the best characterizations in the English language. Trollope's people are real; the beleaguered Lady Mason, charged with forging a will; the aged lover Sir Peregrine Orme; Madeleine Stavely, deeply but practically in love; the shallow, fickle Sophia Furnival and others are 3-dimensional figures that live and breathe. His satire of the so-called "justice" system is the best kind of satire: he just describes the court proceedings as they really are. The result is as up-to-date as today's newspaper. It is no wonder that Trollope's revival in popularity is continuing to grow.

An elegant, subtle undermining of the legal system.

Orley Farm is Trollope at his most profound, and his most entertaining. It is difficult to ascertain what is best in this novel: the subtle, incisive examination of how legal systems cannot be impartial and, more fundamentally, how humankind looks after its own regardless of right and wrong; or the episodic journey with some of Trollope's most memorable (and always three dimensional) characters - the 'wrong' but completely empathic Lady Mason, the fiercely honourable Sir Peregrine Orme, the virile young Peregrine Orme and, most memorably, the gentle overwhelmed but staunchly loyal Mrs Orme - undergoing the pangs of Trollope's drama amidst ancient piles, undulating hedgerows and sequestered English fields.

Deja Vu All Over Again

Orley is simply timeless. Just as in the Palliser series, the characters are the people all around you, in the office, in the news, and on the tube. Trollope's ability to understand the subtle differences that shape the mind of men and women is simply uncanny. If you are a truth seeker, this is a book for you. Anyone with exposure to a legal system with its basis in the English common law will understand the perceptive analysis it is subjected to in Orley Farm. The distinction between evil deeds and the often sympathetic humans that are their authors is one that modern American culture often forgets to make. Orley Farm is here to remind us. As a trusts and estates lawyer, I can not believe that I practiced for fifteen years before someone told me about this gem.

Very helpful and easy to follow

This little book is a very comprehensive and easy to follow list of what to do when you want to improve your health and the allover quality of your life. I started making extensive changes in my life when I was diagnosed with "age related" health issues and told by my doctor to take synthetic hormones. Instead that, I decided to educate myself and read about diseases that are classified incurable. When I found My Secret to Regaining Health I was happy to see how convenient is this book to carry around and to use as quick reference.

This book was unbelievably helpful to me. My daughter's teeth feel out last year and took months to grow back and when they finally did they were Yellow!! I took her to the dentist there was no explanation, until I read this book. Over dosing on fluoride is why my daughter had Freshly Erupted Yellow Teeth, you can only imagine how devastated I was, I thank God it wasn't something worse. I have now taken action, buying filters and making my own tooth paste as suggested in this book, I know there is a lot more to do and glad I have this book handy for support. I Highly recommend it for anyone battling any illness.

Great book. Full of knowledge. A must read.

"Sick and tired of being sick and tired" were the words that got me to buy this book. It was a great read. I couldn't stop talking about it with my friends and family. Straight to the point and with no runarounds, gave me advice and guidelines to better myself and my lifestyle choices. I bought a copy for my sister and my best friend because I wanted to share the knowledge. Enlightened Indigo Child and My Secrets to Regaining Health are awesome books!

Thank you Dr. Brand for this book. I can't wait for the next one.

About the Author

Born in 1967 in Nagasaki Japan. Muneji Fuchimoto is an art director and the founder of SCOG Deisgn Co., Ltd. He is an origami designer, teacher and creator or Orirobo, origami robots. He is the author of several books on origami including Quarry's Robogami (2015) and Origami Racers (2015).

Some experience required... too bad it doesn't include a game suggestion.

My boys were really excited when this book arrived in the mail, they are aged 14 and 17. They were a bit disappointed that the "story" was so short, but thought that the designs were fun and immediately made two each.

They both said that the designs are probably too complicated for anyone younger than about 12, unless they have origami experience or someone that knows origami helping/guiding them. Still, it is a fun book, with complete instructions and paper to fold. It would make a really fun, different birthday present for a boy!

The book includes four pages of basic folding instructions, five story pages (four at the front and one towards the back), twelve designs (six robo-soldiers, five battle accessories, and a space scorpion villain). Difficulty ranges from 2 to 6 stars (out of seven possible). Each of the robo-soldiers has a small data box with ability ratings (power, speed, offensive power, defensive power, and features).

Our boys said it would be more fun if there was more of a game suggestion involved so that you could have a "real battle", as suggested in the story.

Hard even as an adult

Looks great. My son(9yr) is good at craft and really excited. But I really don't recommend it for a kid under 10 at least. Many steps are too complicated and required a skill to handle very tiny foldings with very three dimensional thinking. It takes to a little longer time than other origamis even as an adult.

Also there is not many papers with the book so I strongly recommend to try any robot several times with other papers first then do it with the included papers if you want to fold with the same color paper as shown in the book. Because it's not easy to figure out with pictures, especially at the first time. I doubt if it's really for kids.

Fold, display and play with origami robots

This is a cute kit perfect for folders who like origami that includes accessories that start out at 8 steps and then increase to robots that have up to 49 steps. The paper is colored on both sides and perfectly co-ordinate with the projects. Great to take on the go.

Good for a beginning shooter

Another highly hyped product from a "guru" - however this one actually has some decent advice in it. It takes you through the basics of different platforms and how to use them properly. The suggestions on timing are good as are protocols to follow - the last third of the book feels like filler to me. Would I buy it again? Nope - but I would give it to an assistant photographer or someone starting out.

Book for beginners

Blogging for Photographers is a beginner's guide essentially, targeted at someone who has never blogged before. The author is Jolie O'Dell from Mashable and Venture Beat.

If you already have some blogging experience, then this book may not be that useful because it covers only the basics. But if you know nothing beforehand, then this will give you a quick start, or the work you can expect when your blog is up.

The blogging basics are covered well with the photographer in mind, with constant reference back to the photographer. I'm also a blogger (not on photography though), and many of what's written in the book are things that I do regularly. The tips are pretty standard but still useful, not nothing I've never seen before but books on blogging typically cover the same content.

The chapters covers the different blogging platforms, content writing, building a community, monetization, finding inspiration and some basic photo editing techniques with Photoshop. The chapter on photo editing can easily be devoted to more blogging content as there are better books that deal with such technical knowledge.

Throughout the book there are examples of prominent photography blogs featured. Those are great as inspiration that you can aspired towards, as well as a good resource for coming up with ideas on what to write.

There are reviewers that comment that the book doesn't go into detail. It sort of feels that way, but the thing with blogging is, you just go in and write something and learn on the way, it's not too difficult.

Overall, it's a good book, but I'll only recommend it to those with absolutely no blogging experience.

Way too shallow

This book is way too shallow.
In my opinion, many of the ideas found in the book are truisms. But assuming they are not that obvious for someone, the book fails again since it does not go to enough detail on what must be done.
I agree with the other reviewer about what seems to be filler content: The whole chapter on Photoshop and the Resources chapter as well.
For instance, on Resources chapter of the electronic version of the book, the companies logos take way more space than the descriptions of the corresponding services.
